The end of the year was fast approaching and there I was at my absolute heaviest in weight and lowest in spirit that I’ve ever been. I just didn’t understand it. Five days a week I would wake  up at  4:30 a.m. and have my morning workouts before heading into work.  I enjoyed working out, hiking, kayaking. I thought of myself as an active person, but why wasn’t my body a reflection of that? One night, as I was going through photos from a recent trip to Utah, I remember having my final breaking point (I had also broken a zipper on my favorite dress earlier that day.)I stared at those photos of myself at the Narrows and Bryce Canyon and felt the opposite of what these memories should bring. I felt disappointment and sadness.  I remember thinking, is that what I really look like?  

This struggle of mine has gone on for years, constantly going up and down in weight.  I lacked structure, self discipline, and at that point of my life I felt like I lost myself.  I knew of Jackie through a close friend of mine  and decided to join her fitness program.  I heard great things and there I was desperately looking for change!

After only a few weeks, I was already seeing results. The exercises were challenging, but so much fun. I’ve had a personal trainer in the past, but Jackie is different. She is so in tune with each individual person. She knows when to push harder, when to adjust, when to cheerlead, and when to check in. Fitness at the end of it is not only a physical act,  but it is mostly a mental game.  To continue motivation, Jackie changes up the programs every few weeks and creates new challenges in between.  

The 8 week Challenge is responsible for  the BIGGEST and most significant change in my life. Within this time frame, I realized what I was doing wrong this entire time! Of course it was my eating habits, but it was also what I considered to be my healthy eating options! I had it all wrong!! It was mind blowing.  

To make our  8 week challenge  a bit more interesting, our workouts were significantly altered by a pandemic, making it …..well…..more  challenging.  Prior to the COVID 19’s stay at home order, we  had access to  gym equipment and now in a blink of eye that had all changed. That however, pose no problem  for Jackie. She worked so hard and created home workouts which allowed her  to continue kicking our butts virtually with little to no equipment. 

During those 8 weeks, I was  provided with what I lacked; knowledge my eating habits, structure, and accountability.  Never once during my health adjustment, did I feel hungry or deprived. On the contrary, I was eating more frequently, thus staying satisfied throughout day.  

Post challenge me is  a significant amount of inches smaller, a few pounds lighter, but most importantly I’ve gained my sense of self again.  I am bright eyed over my new fitness journey and can’t wait to see where this will take me. You will never find anyone close to what Jackie gives. You have to trust in the Process and trust in Ms. Jackie Fitness.
